SmokeSunny
(Smoke due to wild fires in the region)

“We’ve seen a shift in weather patterns around Edmonton, bringing smoke from the forest fires, and we’re seeing decreased air quality because of that,” said Chris Boudreau, a spokesman for Alberta Environment. “We’re asking people to be aware of that and take precautions against potential health risks.”

... As of Friday, there were 36 wildfires burning in the province (of Alberta, Canada), from the Slave Lake area (devastated) to the northern community of Fort MacKay. So far in 2011, Alberta has recorded approximately 523 wildfires, which have burned more than 360,000 hectares of the province... (with yet the summer time to come around... and the rancorous thunder storms that come with the soothing prairie heat).
